Size: 8ft 6in x 4ft 2in (260 x 128cm).
Circa 1890.
a very good Shirvan rug with the field filled with a single row of four large linked medallions, with the flattened floral design at the ends. This example has outstanding colour and the dark indigo blue field is covered with Caucasian design elements; these include human and animal figures along with flowers and other devices. The yellow border with the classic s design is a feature of this fine rug.
The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
