South Persian Tribal. Strikingly beautiful south Persian tribal kilim - or flat-woven pile-less rug - of undetermined specific tribal / nomadic origin from the early part of the 1900's, with a truly spectacular 'eye-dazzler' design that is so vigorous that its intense shimmering effect almost appears to be vibrating. It is very finely woven using soft hand-spun wool warp and weft saturated with rich natural dyes and has a lovely abrash. There is an old restoration / repair to one corner (as can be seen in the above images). Whatever tribe made it, it is an extraordinarily visual, very well executed, eye-dazzler kilim with a hypnotic attraction. . Size 305cm x 170cm (120” x 67”).
