An Exhibition from a Scottish Private Collection. Paisley, Sogdiana Books, 2012, Cat.no 18. These leather boots by design and decoration are very close to the boots of the nomads of Eurasia in the period of 4th century b.c. – 2nd century a.d. This type of footwear existed among the nomads of Xinjiang and Altai, the territories adjacent to Semirechye. Boots with a similar shape were unearthed in Astana site near modern Turfan in Xinjiang, but dated as an early Tang dynasty period.
