Antique Belutch, Salor Khani, ca 1900 Technical summary Object: Balutch rug, woven by the Salor Khani tribe. Manufacturing area: North east Iran. Pattern: Midfield with three "fish" setups. The ground of the midfield has alternately black and blue knots. The rug has five boarders of which two are Reciprokt and two S-boarders with dark ground. Size: 169 x 93 cm. Knots: Symmetric/Turkish, approx. 188 000 kn/m2. Varp: Uncoloured light wool. Weft: Greybrown double. Longsides: Four cables witch three threads each in it is covered with dark goat hair wool. Original. Shortsides: Both shortsides ends with a thin black kelim weft which is still part of the original. Some wear. Colors: Coral red, indigo, corroded black, uncoloured white, bleeached yellow, greybrown. Only vegetable dyes. Notable: Pattern and knot density is typical for the Salor Khani tribe. The symmetric knot and the rich color plate makes this rug unusual. Great condition due to age. If you need further information or have questions, feel free to contact me at any time. Regards, David
