Bakhtiari Sumac complete saddle bag, 19th century, 34’x20”. Drawing in the sumac faces is open and balanced with excellent, all natural colors and deep indigo field. White is cotton in sumac face and in pile bottoms. Two of the closures and two of the closure loops have been replaced and there is a small patch on the striped back; all consistent with repairs in the field to keep the saddle bag in use. Some of the red has faded on the front, most evident in the closures on one bag (see last picture right closure is from the front, left is from the back). Otherwise in excellent condition.
